Elliott Smith Youtube channel post from Mike
Thank you again, in advance for all the support over the years everyone! I am eternally grateful for the beautiful messages and inspiration. I am writing my own songs lately and wanted to share them, yet still keep the purity of the Elliott Smith channel for just his works. I created a new channel for the songs. It is @atmikesguitar up here on youtube. If it sounds like something you'd like to check out, please enjoy. I am really loving the songwriting in my life right now. Many more original songs to come on the new channel, and after we come out of this global lockdown, maybe I can find another few ES jewels to post? I am planning on uploading 1 per day 25 original songs in 25 days.

I supplemented the natural acoustic sound with light amp volume from 1964 Vibrolux Reverb twin to try to get the same type of sound from the ES recording.

i learned this song as a beginner guitarist by myself. so elliott definitely taught me how to really play guitar. was just reminded about this song and wanted to see if i got it right. i was playing it with more open chords but yours sounds way more legit. great job and great cover all together! definitely a fun song to sing, let alone guitar

Maybe my favourote elliott lyrics. Heard it when i was 15 and its still the most impressed ive been by his lyrics. Just heartbreaking. I imagine a sons unconditional love for his flawed mother. Did the song justice mate
